Ah yes, the best summer on record continues. Just one bad spate of heat and now rumors of more rain ahead! Other excitement? Tonight we finished Dog Day Afternoon after only 3 sittings. Though I have seen it a couple of times before, I seemed to recall a much bloodier ending that included helicopters. What, praytell, am I confusing this with?

Anyway, a brief respite from my fiction phobia. While scanning the pages of the Creation book I have most recently stumbled across, Meat is Murder, I have finally been taken up with the urge to read the entire 100 pages of Heart of Darkness. We’ll see how far that goes. 10 pages so far, I blame the failure on my lack of clarity of vision…

the list lives again

Finally finished Battles for Honor & humanity (Yakuza Papers), and got about 1 minute into Street Mobster. Which reminded me of my of not having the new box set of these ol’ classics. Conversations with Matt has led me to re-remind myself of the desire to possess God of Gambling (out in a 3 volume set!) and God of Cookery. Hopefully I can satiate myself with just a rental and viewing in these hard times.

And then! Today Dvdsavant lets loose with the info about a Hammer Horror Collection from Universal in Sept! Mighty tasty, that… As would be the also mentioned Bela Lugosi Collection except I have two of those already…

About other movies though… When will I get around to catching all of these blockbusters I’ve missed? Danny the Dog? Episode 3? Downfall? Sin City? Kontroll?

Hopefully I’ll at least make it to Oldboy and We Jam Econo before they flee the theaters!
